What is a good couple costume for an angel?

Happy Halloween everyone! I have a quick question….I am being an angel for Halloween, one of my friends is being a dark angel, another one a devil. My husband still doesn't have a costume. Any ideas of something that would go good with this group?

i have a silver dress, white wings, and a white halo.
i want really pretty eyes, so any suggestions? would a light pink look nice? i want like a really cool eye, so pictures would help. Thanks ! =)

You have finally decided on what to go as this Halloween. You are going to be an Angel. You have bought your costume and tried it on, but now what? How many other people do you think are going to be Angels this Halloween? How do you make yourself stand out against the crowd? You really want to look amazing and have everyone know how much thought you put into your costume. That is what I am here to help you with. I want to share some tips that I have come up with to help you look and feel Heavenly this Halloween. First I want to give you a list of accessory ideas that will compliment any Angel Halloween costume. Then I will give you ideas on how to either find or make some of the less accessible accessories. Plus I’ll give you a great, easy, and secret idea that will make you look like the most unique angel ever to hit a party. Let us get right to the list then. We will start off with some of the more obvious and work into the more creative ideas.

- A nice set of wings

- A halo

- Hair Glitter

- Face Glitter

- A harp

- Small bells

- White fake nails or nail paint

- White strapped shoes

- White fishnet sleeves

- Some gold accents

- A small necklace with a cross pendant

- A white teddy bear

Some of the ideas I listed are not as easy to get as just opening your make-up drawer and pulling them out, or maybe you just don’t know where to find some of them. The wings, halo, hair glitter and face glitter can be picked up at any Wal-Mart or craft store, and you can even find the bells and fake nails there too. In fact, most of the items on the list can be picked up at a craft store. As for finding a necklace with cross pendant, you might have to look harder for a nice, cheap example of that. I suggest looking at local thrift stores or flea markets. Perhaps try to find a necklace separate from the pendant.

Now I want to tell you of my favorite variation of the Angel Halloween costume. I call it the Spunky Angel. All you need is your traditional Angel costume plus a few items that just about every girl has. You need a pair of chucks, knee high rainbow sock, an iPod, and some wristbands or forearm fishnet sleeves. Put all that together and you have a creative spin-off to the traditional Angel costume.

The theme “Naughty and Nice” is a fabulous one for an adult birthday party. The girls can wear fancy dress costumes and the guys can dress up as devils. Or, if you dare to be different, the ladies can dress as devils and the men as angels, which will cause much hilarity. A guy could either dress as a female angel, with blonde wig, sparkly white or pink dress trimmed with lace or, alternatively, as the Angel Gabriel, and be a little more soberly attired. Many fancy dress stores supply outsize or “gender bender” costumes if necessary.

It is surprising how many different types of angel fancy dress costumes are available nowadays, with garments to fit all shapes and sizes and with the option of buying or hiring. Prices range widely, but are mostly very reasonable. Many towns and cities have a fancy dress shop and, of course, it is also very easy to shop on the internet for angel fancy dress, if you cannot find what you want on the high street. If you are adventurous or creative enough to make your own angel fancy dress costume, you can adapt nightgowns or sheets as your costume and buy items from craft shops, such as stiff card or packs of feathers to stick on wings. Just make sure the feathers are glued securely, or you will be shedding them throughout the evening!

One of the most original and, in my opinion prettiest, angel fancy dress costumes that I have seen recently is a cute Cupid set, which consists of a short red satin dress trimmed with red fake fur and also includes a bow and arrow set with red feather wings. “Fallen” or “dark” angel outfits are very dramatic looking and are becoming increasingly popular to wear at parties. One dress that has particularly drawn my attention is a beautiful black crushed velvet creation with net sleeves and “marabou” feather trim at the collar and cuffs. This outfit would look great teamed with black feathered wings, black stockings and black sculptured horror nails. Another “fallen angel” outfit I have spotted on the internet is a one-piece dark angel fancy dress costume, which consists of a gathered “Spandex” mini tube dress with built-in petticoat. The great thing about dresses like these is their versatility, as they can be worn on their own for a night out, so you are getting excellent value for money.

If you want to dress as a “good” angel, you can look heavenly in a variety of white, pastel pink, gold or silver dresses, with matching wings and halos. An array of accessories, ranging from stockings and tights, to gloves, belts and sparkling body paint, will complement your angel fancy dress costume and ensure that you have a birthday party to remember.

Why Do We Celebrate Easter?

For many of us, Easter is a time for painting eggs, eating chocolate and admiring bunnies. In modern times, Easter has become an increasingly secular celebration, in which people rejoice at the coming of spring and its promise of new life. Just as with Christmas, this move away from Easter’s Christian origins can partly be explained by the diversity of people wanting to participate in the holiday. Nonetheless, many Christians would like to remind everyone of why we celebrate Easter.

Easter Sunday celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after his crucifixion. Good Friday is a solemn church holiday which remembers this crucifixion of Christ on the Cross at Calvary. In the Roman Catholic church, Good Friday is marked with a fast. Many protestant churches mark the crucifixion on the Wednesday before Easter instead, coinciding with the sacrifice of the lamb in Jewish Passover. Lambs are a common symbol at Easter as a symbol for Christ, “the lamb of God”

On Easter Sunday, many Christians rejoice and sing at church services, made all the more special by the solemn remembrance before. Some Christians have developed other joyous Easter traditions, such as flying kites to symbolize Christ’s rise to Heaven. In the happy tone of Easter, here are a few Easter songs especially for children.

Why the name Easter?

Christian missionaries noticed that their celebration of the resurrection of Christ occurred during pagan celebrations of the spring equinox. The pagan goddess of fertility and birth celebrated at this time was called Eostre. The missionaries adopted the celebratory tradition into a Christian holiday. Easter eggs are of course the classic symbol of fertility and have been associated with spring celebrations since ancient times. Classically, eggs were forbidden to Christians during the 40 days of Lent between Ash Wednesday and Easter and thus became an important part of the Easter celebration.

Where does the Easter bunny come in?

Just like the egg, the bunny is another ancient symbol of fertility and new life. One Anglo-Saxon myth says that Eostere changed a pet bird into a bunny which laid colored eggs to entertain children. The Easter bunny become a figure much like Santa, which brings presents to good children. In a German tradition, children would hide brightly colored nests often made from bonnets around the house for the “Osterhase” or Easter bunny to leave colored eggs. This has evolved into the tradition of hiding Easter baskets, nests and eggs themselves.

The bunny pocket pal project is perfect for a Hodge Podge Crafts event. If you are a Mom or Dad planning a party, or a school or local park district looking for ideas with some left over crafts, the pocket pal craft project is perfect.

Materials:

* Aleene’s® Quick Dry Tacky Glue™
* Paper punch: 1/8”
* Craft sticks
* Craft foam, pink (ears), white (teeth)
* Ribbon
* White pom pom, 2 for cheeks
* Decorated egg
* Woodsies, assorted sizes and shapes
* Black pom pom for nose
* Black beads, 2 for eyes
* Acrylic paint, white
* 1/4″ flat brush

Steps:

1. Using ovals, square and circle glue wood pieces together to create bunny. Glue the tip of craft stick to back of the figure, making sure there is space enough to insert into a pocket. Let dry.

2. Using ܔ brush, paint bunny with white acrylic paint. Let dry.

3. Glue all trims into place:

Eye: Beads
Cheeks: (2) 1/4″ white pom poms
Nose: black pom pom
Teeth: two small rectangles craft foam
Inner Ear: Pink craft foam

The Legend of the Easter Lily

Angel Costumes in Cinderella Story?

My friends and I want to go as angels for the Halloween dance at our high school, but we can't find good angel costumes. Does anybody know of a place that has angel costumes similar to the ones in a Cinderella Story?

So I am being an angel for Halloween and this is what I have so far:

white sheet
homemade wings with glitter on the edges

I need to know how ro attach the wings….cuz if I wear them like a backpack the sheet will lose flowy effect and press against my body. And also I need to know what shoes to wear, and how to make it prettier…and how to wear my hair. I am a 15 yr old girl with long brown hair.
